Frequently Asked Questions on Cabin & Sleepout Rentals
- What areas do you service?
- We offer our Rental Cabins and Sleepouts in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions.
- How big is the cabin?
- Our rental cabins are 3.8m long x 2.6m wide, plus spouting and overhang.
- Do I need Council permission for a cabin on my property?
- Not generally, as our cabins are under 10m2 and are portable. However, you still need permission from your Landlord, if you are renting and rules around proximity to boundaries are still applicable.
- How do I know if you can access to drop off?
- We offer a FREE no obligation site visit, however generally we need access of 3m wide and high to deliver a cabin. Alternatively, they can be placed by crane but this would be an additional cost.
- Can I use it straight away?
- Yes – they are delivered and set up level. They are fully finished – insulated, painted and carpeted with curtain tracks and smoke alarm fitted.
- What about power?
- The cabin has two double power points – one in each corner. It has an internal and external light and comes with a 15m power lead, which has a standard 3-pin plug at one end. All you need to do is connect this to a normal 3-pin power socket in your house or garage.
- How long can I keep it for?
- There is a minimum rental period of six months, but you can keep it for as long as you need it beyond the initial six months.
- When I am finished with it, what do I do?
- After the initial six-month period, we would need one month’s notice to remove the cabin and we would make arrangements as to confirm the date for removal with you.
- When do I get my refundable bond back?
- Provided the cabin is returned to us undamaged and in a clean and tidy condition, the bond will be refunded direct to a nominated bank account within 14 days of the cabin being removed.
- What are the costs?
-
Prior to delivery, you will need to pay $600 - which includes:
- Standard delivery fee ($400)
- Two weeks rental in advance ($200)
If placement by crane is needed then there will be an extra delivery fee contingent on crane costs.
After that payments are made by weekly or fortnightly AP (Automatic Payment) in advance.
